consider

when laughter warms your heart
you engage
when tears well in your eyes
for pains sake
you feel
when poverty, hunger, abortion
break you
you awake
when concrete floors, and shop doors
become your home
you move
towards heaven
you stop
you think
my food
is reconsidered
when pollution strikes
with force
for it cannot see
that child
behind
my car it
breaks
families
my toilet paper
it endangers my
species
my hands my arms you will find me
deep in shame
but i am trying to get dirty
i am trying to put my own
in my own
to give my own
to You.
For I and they, them and me
we are made
to be in

Sew What? Soccer This!

Sew Something.
Right...
So I tried and tried and this is my end of the story...and I'm stitching with it!

I bought a beautiful Japanese style dress in South Korea at the beginning of Summer.
Somehow the style just makes it seem like I'm wearing my night dress out!
So I decided to upcycle it!
The material was gorgeous and felt so natural, it was however 40% acrylic!

So take one...otherwise known as the the 'quick and lotsa unpicking to do!' way. Clearly this did not go well as there would be no take two or three! I ended up with a mid calf length butt flap skirt!

 The unpicking started.
I decided to make it Pleaty!
Turned out it did not fit my hips or waist for that matter.

I decided to make my Japanese style dress into a Pleaty little skirt for niece Hannah Jade.
This is how take three came about and ended up.

Laments, Cream Cheese and Yoghurt

Laments.
Ever wondered what kind of "food chain" your choices have?
Like your cuppa in the morning, or your cool cotton tunic?
Gas in your car? Banana in your smoothie? Chocolate in your cake?

Am I sounding an alarm for nothing!
No!
I have decided, I will not stand with this world in destroying our World.
For God so Loved the Cosmos, that He Gave His Son so that we may not;
support slavery
add to the hole in the ozone
add to the hearts of the broken
spray on chemicals so that the poor cannot replant to feed their families!

My heart is burdened and saddened at the state this World is in.
It's been too long!
I will not sit back and indulge.
I will think!
This Earth used to be more than enough.
Our decisions to live big, eat more, dress in style,
have hurt Her and Her People!

Rethink. Recycle. Reuse. Upcycle. Share. Carpool. Buy Local. Eat Organic. Drink Fair Trade. Say No to War. Fly the Flag of the Slaughtered Lamb. Be Ready to be Radical.

Cream Cheese and Yoghurt!
So on one of our ventures on making our own I discovered Wendy.
I don't know her personally.
I have learned loads from my cyber journeys into her blog!

I found this yummy recipe for Yoghurt and Cream Cheese.

(While waiting for the Milk to cool, I decided to make a Hair Band!)
(Our Dogs from Front to Back: Lassie, Jackie, Emma and Norman who just made the shot)

I made a 2L batch:

Yoghurt.
2L Organic Full Cream Milk
250g Organic Low Fat Vanilla Yoghurt with Live Cultures
Flask or Cooler Box as Wendy used.

I brought 2L of Organic Full Cream Milk to boil, (luckily not over, keep a good eye on it though)
Take it of the heat and let it cool, until you can keep you Pinkie in for 10 seconds.
Whisk in the yoghurt.
Pour into Flasks, I used 2 X 1L and a our some in a sterilised glass jar which I placed in a tiny cooler box.
Leave it out over night and then the next morning you have yoghurt.
I felt that mine got better with time.
So it tasted better and got thicker 2 days later!

Cream Cheese.
I poured 1L of the yoghurt into a dishcloth.
Which I tied onto the tap and to let the whey drip out.
If you like catch the whey to add to your husbands smoothies...or yours if you like!
The whey should take about 3-4 hours to drip through.
Voila, you have Cream cheese.
It also gets better with age!

Fridge Life: We have had the Yoghurt and Cream cheese now for 4 days and its still just right!
